Feed Tomorrow 2015
Feed Tomorrow 2015 On October 21st, I joined the Toronto Foundation For Student Success (TFSS) again this year to celebrate their 11th annual Feed Tomorrow week. The day started early at St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto, where a large cheque of $545,000 donated from the Breakfast Clubs of Canada was presented to the TFSS program. We then all hopped on the School Bus Tour that took us to Ryerson Community School, First Nations School of Toronto and Dundas Junior Public School to show us the nutritional program in each establishment. We met with community volunteers and children, and learn first-hand about the need these programs address. Feed Tomorrow week is here to raise awareness and collect pledges to help feed Toronto’s students, address issues of poverty, hunger, poor nutrition and their effect on kid’s education and growth. With the support from Toronto City Council, hundreds of volunteers, supporters and very generous sponsors, Feed Tomorrow week is the largest awareness campaign of its kind for student hunger and nutrition programs. The TFSS supports 160,000 nutritious meals every school day. These meals are provided through over 700 Student Nutrition Programs, primary school-based, where students eat a healthy breakfast, lunch or a […]
Kathy & Victor | Toronto Engagement
Kathy & Victor | Toronto Engagement Toronto in the summer is the sort of place that is just meant to be photographed. So add an adorable, in love duo who has been together over 15 years in the mist of a green park and you’ve got an ever lasting e-session. Kathy and Victor haven’t had many pictures taken together in the past but they were nowhere near shy when it came to posing together. Their big day will be at the beautiful Donalda Golf Club in Toronto and we’re looking forward to go for another round with these two. See you soon! -Dewey
Mitwa & Ralph | Montreal Engagement
Mitwa & Ralph | Montreal Engagement From the bride to be: Back in November of 2014, although the temperature was about -20° C we were “casually” found to be in a secluded park overlooking the Saint Lawrence River to a breath taking view of Montreal. This was my first and Ralph’s second visit to Montreal and we wanted to make the most out of it and that he did! This was no casual visit. While sitting on a bench and enjoying the view he slowly pulled out his phone, read a very sweet poem he had written for me and then popped the question! There I was with a ring on my finger and officially engaged to my fiancé. We met the first time earlier that year in Hamilton, Ontario when Ralph had driven down from his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio for the Easter weekend. We started dating soon after and didn’t take much time to realise that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with each other. And here we are now, back in Montreal for our engagement shoot. We had such a blast with our photographer Dewey, who made us feel totally comfortable. We now look […]
Quyen & Toan | Montreal Wedding
Quyen & Toan | Montreal wedding Whenever we have a couple who wants to book us for a Montreal wedding, we get really excited. Montreal is always a dear place to our heart as we both grew up there and getting to take pictures of our bride and groom in our beautiful hometown feels very special to us. After the great Engagement Session with this couple in Toronto, we know that we were going to have a lot of fun on their wedding day. Thank you Quyen & Toan for being brave enough to conquer the cold Montreal weather, allowing us to capture these beautiful pictures.   Flower: SKY Fleur | Church: Église Notre-Dame du Très-Saint-Rosaire | Reception Venue: Le Cristal Chinois | Formal Shoot Location: Old Port of Montreal, World Trade Centre Montréal, Palais des congrès de Montréal
Quyen & Toan | Engagement
Quyen & Toan | Engagement Quyen & Toan have known each other a little over a year. It didn’t take long before these two decided to tie the knot. It’s the kind of love that made Quyen move 3,000km away from her home. The moment Toan proposed to her, she dropped everything in Edmonton and moved to Montreal. They say love can move mountains, this one moved cities. They picked a nice summer weekend to come to Toronto to book us, and what a surprise as they asked to do their engagement shoot on that same day. Why not!!! Since it was such a beautiful summer day, we couldn’t pass the chance and we’re glad that we did it spontaneously, because we all had so much fun. -Dewey

Catherine & Jacob | Engagement in Old Port Montreal
Last weekend, we drove 570 km to Montreal to shoot Catherine & Jacob’s engagement session in the beautiful Old Port. But let’s be honest, any occasion for us to pay a visit to our hometown is a delightful getaway. Who can resist the food, the summer festivals, the joie de vivre of our French Canadian heritage and of course, our family and friends. Catherine & Jacob are Montrealers who recently moved to Ottawa. Therefore, when we asked them if they wanted to do their engagement shoot in Ottawa or Montreal, the final verdict was made without any hesitation. It is the place where they met, it is where it all started. The couple has been together for the longest time and have finally decided to get married this winter. These two crazy love birds brought lots of energy and laughter to the photoshoot. I had to stop in the middle of the shoot a couple of times because their laugh was so contagious that it was nearly impossible to hold my camera steady. They chose the Old Port because of its European flair. Its historic buildings and charming brick roads is what sets Montreal apart from other cities in Canada. […]
Engagement | Wendy & Long
Wendy & Long have been together for over a decade and have two beautiful daughters. Between running their Edible Arrangements store in Mississauga, renovating their home, bringing the kids to school, piano lessons and caring for their two dogs, they have finally decided to tie the knot this year in Montego Bay, Jamaica. After having to postpone 3 times due to bad weather and with only one week left before the wedding, mother nature finally decided to smile upon us with a nice sunny afternoon. I still remember the first time we were discussing the engagement shoot with Wendy & Long. The expressions on their faces were priceless. They were nervous, skeptical and unsure of being able to deliver fun, natural and intimate poses for the pictures. There was extra pressure as they wanted us to create them a guestbook album with these shots for the wedding on the following week. Needless to say, we stayed up all night after the shoot to work on the pictures, created the album and sent in a rush order to the printer. The couple delivered great pictures and the album came right on time for the flight. I say, not bad for a […]
Racoons | I’m shooting you, old friend.
While growing up in Montreal, we used to trek to the top of Mont-Royal to do the neatest thing that I would not even think of doing now. We went up to feed racoons every Sunday during the summer season. I’ll never forget the joy and excitement of handing crackers to a wild animal’s paws as a kid. That relationship rapidly turned sour when I moved to Toronto, they’re everywhere, they’re pests, they make noise, they trash your garbage and the list goes on. I decided one day in January of this year to drive out to the outskirt of Kleinberg to hunt racoons in their natural habitat. And if you’re wondering, yes I shot him at least 20 times. Here’s my favourite shot, all hopes of reviving my childhood love is back. Dewey Shot with Canon 5D Mark III and Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens
