Catherine & Jacob | Montreal Wedding
Catherine & Jacob | Montreal Wedding The parents of the bride flew all the way from their tropical warm paradise in Bolivia to the cold snowy winter in Montreal. The bride chose their wedding day to be in the middle of December, so their parents can have a white Christmas, which they haven’t had for 40 years! Catherine, with the help of her mom, confected almost every little detail themselves. From the bouquet, the centrepieces, the wedding favours, the details added to the bride’s shoes, the invitations, the sweet/candy table… sounds like a big stressful job? Not so much for Catherine, as she is an event planner by profession. The entire day was relaxing and memorable. Catherine and Jacob are very simple people. They do not let things stress them and started their day pretty late. They did not want a bridal party and Catherine did not want her makeup and hair done. They opted to be as natural and organic as it can be. The entire day was happening at the beautiful St-Martin Hotel & Suites. Catherine got ready with her mom in their suite and Jacob with his best friend and Catherine’s dad. The ceremony and reception was […]
Whitney & Marlon | Fall wedding
Whitney & Marlon | Fall wedding 9 years together, 2 beautiful boys, a dog and a new house later, these two love birds finally tied the knot on a beautiful fall day. Mother nature announced cloudy rain for the whole week (including the wedding day) but the couple lucked out and got a marvellous sunny day. We loved how Malcom “the elder son” wanted to be involve in the day. From dressing up with his father, smiling and posing for the camera, walking the isle with his baby brother and busting a dance move entering the reception hall, to holding the mic and thanking the 115 guests at the reception for celebrating his parents wedding. Whitney & Marlon wanted a wedding inspired by fall colours. Therefore, they’ve pick the Riverwood Conservancy park in Mississauga for their formal shoot. They envisioned the reveal while being surrounded by tall trees. The location was perfect and so was the gorgeous couple.   From the bride: Our wedding day was hectic and perfect all at the same time. It was a beautiful day and I’m so thankful that I got to spend it with my amazing bridal party that helped ensure everything went smoothly. […]
The Grid | Chococrepe
For those who didn’t know, Dewey and I used to own a restaurant in downtown Toronto. A creperie on Queen West called Chococrepe. When we first opened our restaurant, The Grid was the first to show up at our door and gave us our very first review. We quickly framed it and proudly hung it on our wall. Even though Chococrepe no longer exists, we will forever be thankful to them and the great team behind this wonderful publication. It is very sad to learn that The Grid weekly magazine is folding their operation after publishing 162 issues over the past 3 years. You will be sorely missed. Kim
Appalaches
Dewey and I drove up to Montreal to attend the album launch concert from my good old friend Sebastien Legault’s band, Appalaches at the L’Hémisphère Gauche bar. Appalaches is a post-rock band from Montreal with 4 members who have enough energy to shake the whole block down. “Mòn” is the band’s very first album; a precious melodious and strong album that you will quickly fall in love with, packaged in a beautiful album designed by Sebastien himself. Did I forget to mention that Sebastien is also a renowned creative director/graphic designer too? (please see link below for his work). Yes, all of the nice designs for the band is from him. Appalaches warned us all that they will play loud and they surely delivered! Great show, awesome music, high energy and lovely crowd. Congrats Appalaches for a successful launch!
